Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a friend who keeps making plans with you and then cancelling at the last minute.
Student Answer:  I understand that you're busy, however I am upset about plans being made then canceled at the last minute. Please make plans with me at times when you know you're not going to be busy, thank you.
Essay:  When you choose to be assertive, you won't always get everything you want. With that in mind, why should you still choose to communicate assertively? Provide two reasons.
Student Answer:  Even if you won't always get everything you want, you should still be assertive because you should express your wants and needs and at least some of those should be taken into consideration by others. If you aren't assertive it can also push you into corners where you think that only other people's wants and needs matter, whereas your's don't.
