Individual Essay Grading For: Assertiveness Knowledge Test
Question/AnswerPoints
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a teacher who falsely accused you of turning in your homework late.
Student Answer:  I understand that you believe that I have turned my homework in late, but I am aware that I turned it in before the due date. I believe that there just might have been a mistake and that no one is at fault.
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a friend who keeps making plans with you and then cancelling at the last minute.
Student Answer:  I know that you can be busy often, but I find it disrespectful to constantly cancel our plans so close to the time we're going to do things together. If it's possible, maybe we could plan things out better for both of our schedules so that this doesn't keep happening.
Essay:  When you choose to be assertive, you won't always get everything you want. With that in mind, why should you still choose to communicate assertively? Provide two reasons.
Student Answer:  Even if I'm not getting everything that I want, I still believe that it's important to communicate assertively since it's best to respect both your and other's opinions. Additionally, it will help you convey what you're actually saying more clearly so that everyone understands.
