Essay: Imagine that you are struggling to learn a concept in math. Provide brief descriptions of how you would address the first two components of self-regulation to work towards improving your learning. Student Answer: First, I would plan out what I could do to understand the concept I'm learning about. Either giving my best educated guess, studying and coming in for tutoring, asking a friend, searching up the concept, or asking a teacher for help. The second component I would do is reflection, like "is this method working for me?" or "Am I seeing the progress that I want to see?", "am I understanding the work?".
