Essay: Imagine that you are struggling to learn a concept in math. Provide brief descriptions of how you would address the first two components of self-regulation to work towards improving your learning. Student Answer: If I were ever to be struggling with a concept in math, which I have done and overcome many times, I would begin by reviewing all given instructional material on the subject. Then, if I still did not understand, I would make a list of all missing and upcoming assignments on the topic, ordered chronologically in the order they were assigned. Then, I would work on the first one until I fully understood it, perhaps with the help of a teacher or a peer, and then review my work, just to make sure I understand what I did wrong, and exactly how I fixed it. Then, I would repeat that process until my list was completely checked off, and by then, I would most certainly have fixed my misunderstanding with the subject, bit by bit. |
