Essay: Imagine that you are struggling to learn a concept in math. Provide brief descriptions of how you would address the first two components of self-regulation to work towards improving your learning. Student Answer: In my planning step, I would want to look at the concept that I am struggling with and break it down into smaller, more manageable parts that I can take one step at a time. Once that is done, using my newfound knowledge, I will look back at the concept as a whole and figure out which part that I am struggling with. My monitoring step will have me using everything that I had learned through my planning step and keep some kind of log marking where I may have gone wrong and what I can do to fix the problem. Keep on seeking out any problems and probably look back and compare past problems with the present and continue to learn more about that math concept and later improve my learning. My plan will be to take a step back and look at all of the smaller details that may or may not be causing me to struggle with the concept. My monitoring will allow me to keep track of everything and seek out all of the mistakes so that I may correct them in the future. |
