Student Answer:  I understand you think I turned in my homework late, but I did not. We can work this out and I can prove that I did not turn it in late. I appretiate trying to figure out who did turn in their homework late, but it was not me. But thank you for coming and talking to me about it instead of just making it late.
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a friend who keeps making plans with you and then cancelling at the last minute.
Student Answer:  Hey, I find it very hurtful that you makes plans with me and then keep cancling. it makes me a little upset and like you don't want to actually hang out. If you don't want to spend time with me, you just have to politely tell me and I'll understand. It's okay if you don't want to hang out or be my friend.
Essay:  When you choose to be assertive, you won't always get everything you want. With that in mind, why should you still choose to communicate assertively? Provide two reasons.
Student Answer:  I would still choose to communicate assertively because it helps the situation(s) and doesn't cause as much aggresiveness. Plus, being kind to others and being treated how you want to be treated will get you very far in life.
