Essay: Write a 3-part assertive statement to a friend who keeps making plans with you and then cancelling at the last minute. Student Answer: Each time we make plans together you always turn them down last minute and that's kind of hurting my feelings because I get excited every time, only to get it to shut down. Essay: When you choose to be assertive, you won't always get everything you want. With that in mind, why should you still choose to communicate assertively? Provide two reasons. Student Answer: You should still be assertive even if you don't get everything you want because if you're aggressive then you could make the other person uncomfortable or even scared to talk to you. If you're passive then the other person might not understand your side of the conversation and can take control of the conversation. |
