Question/AnswerPoints
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a teacher who falsely accused you of turning in your homework late.
Student Answer:  In a calm tone I would say, "I know I turned it in, and I'm not blaming you, but maybe it got put in the wrong pile, and your just not looking in the right place".
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a friend who keeps making plans with you and then cancelling at the last minute.
Student Answer:  I would say, "Hey, I know you don't mean to, but it hurts my feelings a little when you make plans and cancel, especially if I had something going on, and I cancel to make time for you".
Essay:  When you choose to be assertive, you won't always get everything you want. With that in mind, why should you still choose to communicate assertively? Provide two reasons.
Student Answer:  I think you should communicate assertively because for one, kids sometimes don't understand if your not upfront, and you try and beat around the bush, so when your assertive no one will be confused. And then another reason to be assertive would be because you will feel a lot better, because sometimes if we aren't assertive to each other, our feelings can get hurt, but the other person never knows, so they will repeat if we don't say anything.
