Question/AnswerPoints
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a teacher who falsely accused you of turning in your homework late.
Student Answer:  Mr./Mrs. Teacher I believe that I turned in my paper on time. If you could check it and make sure that you are absolutely sure that I turned it in late, I apricate it greatly. If you are willing I would love to discuss this matter more.
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a friend who keeps making plans with you and then cancelling at the last minute.
Student Answer:  Hey Friend, I wanted to ask you about our plans last Friday. It seems that you keep making plans and then cancelling them. I would like to know why because it messes with my schedule and I want to know if you want to hang out with me.
Essay:  When you choose to be assertive, you won't always get everything you want. With that in mind, why should you still choose to communicate assertively? Provide two reasons.
Student Answer:  Because it is better to try and ask for something than not try at all. There is still a chance of you getting what you want. You should also be assertive so others know what you are feeling. If they don't know then they don't know how to treat you.
