Question/AnswerPoints
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a teacher who falsely accused you of turning in your homework late.
Student Answer:  I'm not sure why you think I turned in my homework late, but I know I turned it in on the due date. It says right here that it was turned in on time.
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a friend who keeps making plans with you and then cancelling at the last minute.
Student Answer:  I understand that you have a busy schedule, but when you continuously cancel our plans it makes me feel like you don't want to be with me. Please make sure you're not double booking yourself when we make plans to hang out.
Essay:  When you choose to be assertive, you won't always get everything you want. With that in mind, why should you still choose to communicate assertively? Provide two reasons.
Student Answer:  You should still communicate with the other person(s) because if they can hear you opinion, it will help them understand another perspective. Even if you do not get your way, people will know your thoughts and how you think through things, so it will help them understand you as a person in the future.
