Question/AnswerPoints
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a teacher who falsely accused you of turning in your homework late.
Student Answer:  Hey Mrs. Jen, but I want to talk with you about my homework last night. I know you're saying I turned it in late, but I just want to show you proof that I turned it in on time. I just wanted to let you know, but I hope you have the great rest of your day.
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a friend who keeps making plans with you and then cancelling at the last minute.
Student Answer:  Hey, I don't wanna be rude, but making plans and cancelling them at the last minute is not okay. I still wanna do things with you, but making plans and cancelling them just wastes time while I could be doing better things. I don't wanna be rude, but I just wanna kindly ask to let me know ahead of time.
Essay:  When you choose to be assertive, you won't always get everything you want. With that in mind, why should you still choose to communicate assertively? Provide two reasons.
Student Answer:  You should still communicate assertively, because it shows how respectful you're towards others no matter the situation. It also shows that you listen and it also shows you if someone you're having problems with shows you any respect.
