Student Answer:  I’m sorry for not completely my homework on time. I was trying to get caught up on my other homework first so therefore it was late and I apologize. I apologize that my homework was late and it won’t happen again.
Essay:  Write a 3-part assertive statement to a friend who keeps making plans with you and then cancelling at the last minute.
Student Answer:  If you don’t want to hang out with me just tell me because I’ll understand. I understand that you don’t want to hang out with me but just tell me that so I know. It won’t hurt my feelings if you tell me that you don’t want to hang out with me.
Essay:  When you choose to be assertive, you won't always get everything you want. With that in mind, why should you still choose to communicate assertively? Provide two reasons.
Student Answer:  Because it makes the situation a lot better. Just talking kindly about something to someone makes them feel good because you aren’t yelling about it when you’re confronting them.
