When a task feels overwhelming, it's easy to feel like you're failing before you even start. To combat this, I'd break the challenge down into smaller, more manageable steps. Instead of focusing on the daunting end goal, I'd concentrate on achieving each individual step. The act of successfully completing these smaller tasks would provide a sense of accomplishment and build momentum. I'd also actively acknowledge and celebrate each of these small wins, even if it's just a mental "yes! I did that!" or a short break as a reward. This creates a positive feedback loop and reinforces the idea that I am capable of making progress.
