I would ask to talk to the teacher. Then talk to him/her about it in a responsible way without yelling. Also I would ask him/her to look and see if they can find it and explain you turned it in on time.

Talk to them about it in a nice way. Ask them to make sure they don't have anything going on before they ask me to hangout. Also tell them that if it keeps happening I'll try to stop making so many plans with them
