That hasn't ever happened to me, but I would say that I would break the formula down and rearrange it into a different form that is easier for me to understand, like slope-intercept form. Never-mind, that covers no self regulating components. The main problem is I don't learn well with the typical study or whatever other people do. I learn best (in hard(er) math) by making the problem my own.
