If I was met with a challenge or something came up I was unsure I could do, I would remind myself of things I've done in the past that are like this/also challenging. I tell myself that if I was able to do one thing, it's probable that I will be able to complete the challenging task given to me if I put my mind to it. If you are dedicated to learning something, or mastering the art of something, you should never think "it's too hard." Nothing is "too hard" or "impossible" if you have true dedication to learning the given subject. But if you complete the given goal, and you do bad at it, it never is a sign to "stop." You are rarely good at something you are doing for the first time, and it'd be foolish to beat yourself up over something you have little control over.
