This is what I’ve would’ve said, “I don’t know but i think its not the best idea to do that since the teacher can clearly know who copied who base on the same wording and before you say it, i don’t think even if your going to make slight changes the teacher will know.”

Assertiveness to me is important because you state your comment/opinion without being rude and disrespectful, and at the same time you can hear out on the other person, also you can be clear about it as much as being aggressive without lashing out.
