Using planning and monitoring you can 1, create a plan, 2, monitor what is changing when using this plan and 3, always strive to do better when creating a plan. If you are using the other two parts of self-regulation then you can adjust the plan when necessary (you start having lower grades) and reflect on how you did things previously to approve the things you were doing right and then use adjusting to change the things that you weren't doing right.
