When you make plans and cancel on me at the last minute, it makes me feel very annoyed and angry because I spent time getting ready and changed my schedule so things could still work out for me to follow our plans together.

I think being assertive keeps you from being taken advantage of and helps you create boundaries. It's also a good way to help you express your thoughts and feelings clearly.
