I feel bad for people who go through this, but I don't remember a time where we made plans and somebody didn't show up last minute, they at least tell me a day before.

because the person may actually listen and understand why you are upset, and because they may stop doing certain things when you communicate that its against your boundaries or that they shouldnt do it.
