How I would address this situation, first I would consider all my resources, for example, ask for help from the teacher, go to tutoring, pay attention in class, and lastly, practice other examples of the same concept of the math.
Secondly, I would plan the situation out, then adjust any changes that would be needed, lastly reflect on myself on how well I did on the assignment.
